Silvia Pichardo Sánchez
PhD in Pharmacy. Full Professor of Toxicology Area of the Department of Nutrition and Bromatology, Toxicology and Legal Medicine at the University of Sevilla. Her lines of research focus on the toxicity assessment of food contaminants (such as cyanotoxins); the evaluation of compounds for use as food additives (stilbenes and Alliaceae extracts); and the evaluation of substances used in food packaging (essential oils, Alliaceae extracts, nanoclays and graphene).
She is a researcher in the CTS-358 Toxicology Group. She has participated as principal investigator and collaborator in international and national projects, and is the author of numerous scientific publications in the field of food safety. She is a member of the editorial board of several journals in this field.
She has been the coordinator of the Food Safety section of the Spanish Association of Toxicology from October 2014 to July 2023. She is currently Director of the Department of Nutrition and Bromatology, Toxicology and Legal Medicine at the University of Seville.
