PhD in Veterinary Medicine and full Professor of the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC).

She is a Researcher at the Escherichia coli Reference Laboratory (LREC-USC), and Scientific Director of the Biomedicine and Veterinary Research Centre (CEBIOVET) of the Rof Codina Foundation, USC. She currently coordinates the Sustainable Animal Production Thematic Team that advises the SAP Collaborative Working Group of the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR).

With more than 20 years of experience in Escherichia coli bacteria pathogenic to humans and animals, she leads the line of Food Safety and Antibiotic Resistance "from farm to fork" under the perspective of One-Health.
