María Pilar Guallar Castillón

 

PhD in Medicine and Surgery and Full Professor of the Department of Preventive Medicine, Public Health and Microbiology at the Autonomous University of Madrid. She is a member of the Public Health CIBER (CIBERESP) and a collaborating researcher at IMDEA-Food.

She has worked in Nutritional Epidemiology for over 15 years. First, developing a tool for gathering dietary information in large populations, the HD-ENRICA dietary history, which has served to collect information on food consumption in representative samples of the Spanish population. She has also conducted the following lines of research: food consumption patterns (Mediterranean diet, among others) and their association with the incidence of chronic diseases and premature mortality; consumption of ultra-processed foods and their influence on health; forms of cooking and cardiovascular risk factors and consumption of phthalates and their association with chronic diseases.
