Pablo Fernández Escámez

 

PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Murcia. Full Professor of Food Technology at the Technical University of Cartagena since 2009.

His research focuses on microbiological risk assessment (animal foods and by-products, and seafoods), predictive microbiology, the physiology of pathogenic micro-organisms in food, and food preservation techniques (thermal and non-thermal).

He has been a scientific expert with the EFSA from 2012 onwards and has led and participated in several working groups. He is Vice-President of the Food Microbiology group of the Spanish Society of Microbiology (SEM).
