Irene Bretón Lesmes
Doctor of Medicine, Specialist in Endocrinology and Nutrition. Adjunct Physician of the Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Unit of the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital, and Associate Professor of Health Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid.
Her lines of research are clinical nutrition and obesity, including bariatric surgery.
She has been a member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition (SEEN) since 2008 and President of the Society from 2017 to 2020. She has been a member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Federation of Nutrition, Food and Dietetics Societies (FESNAD) from 2009 to 2018, subsequently becoming its Vice-President. Currently, she is President of the SEEN Foundation, and works especially on community-based activities for promoting health through diet.
