Undeclared and unauthorised sulphites in chlorella powder from Mongolia, via Belgium (Ref.:ES2018/088)

The Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition received information via the RASFF (Food Alert System) of an alert notification placed by the Health Authorities in Luxembourg, on the presence of undeclared sulphite in chlorella powder from Mongolia, via Belgium.
The product concerned is called pure organic chlorella powder, brand: purasana, batch number: OCH-DF-160330/10, barcode: 5400706613262, weight: 200.0 g. and best before date: 30/10/2019.
All the Competent Authorities have been informed via the national Food Alert Network (SCIRI).
As a precautionary measure, it is recommended that consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of sulphites who may have the above product in their homes refrain from eating it.
The Agency has indicated that the consumption of this product does not pose a risk for other consumers.
