ALADINO Study 2013

The ALADINO Study 2013 is part of the Childhood Obesity Monitoring Initiative (COSI) of the WHO Regional Office for Europe. The initiative uses a shared methodology between different countries to monitor childhood obesity in Europe.

The ALADINO Study 2013 was carried out by AECOSAN and brings together information on a representative sample of boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 7 in Spain. The sample included 3,426 boys and girls selected from schools all over Spain. The aim of the study is to describe the body weight of this population and to identify potential determinants of overweight and obesity at these ages using information collected from schoolchildren, their families and schools themselves, and to evaluate this data in comparison to the 2011 ALADINO study.
