3rd NAOS Strategy Awards – 2009

The panel met on 17 March 2010 at the Madrid headquarters of the Spanish Agency for  Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) to judge the 3rd NAOS Strategy Awards - 2009 edition.

In 2009, a total of 75 projects were put forward and pre-assessed by AESAN. Pre-assessment is based on the requirements of the call for applications and the general assessment criteria for the awards, established by Order SAS/2404/2009, of 1 September, opening the application period for the 2009 edition of the NAOS Strategy Awards. Following pre-assessment, 24 finalist projects were selected for presentation to the awarding panel.  

The Panel finally met on 17 March 2010, ruling to name the following projects to receive awards:

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE PROMOTION OF HEALTHY DIET IN THE FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SETTING:

  • “Project for cooperation between healthcare services and communities to promote balanced diet and physical exercise” by Ángela Arjona Berral, Carmen Pilar Jiménez Lorente and Antonio Hervás González, Churriana de la Vega (Granada).

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE PROMOTION OF PHYSICAL EXERCISE IN THE FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SETTING:

  • “Exercise looks after you” project by the University of Extremadura and the regional government of Extremadura.

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE PROMOTION OF HEALTHY DIET IN THE SCHOOL SETTING:

  • “Programme for the prevention of obesity in children and youths in Molina de Segura (Murcia)” by the Health Department of the Town Council of Molina de Segura (Murcia).

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE PROMOTION OF PHYSICAL EXERCISE IN THE SCHOOL SETTING:

  • “Physical activity and diet as a source of health” project by Colegio Salesiano Santo Ángel school, Asturias.

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM:

  • “Children in Movement Programme” by the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital (Barcelona).

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE WORKPLACE:

  • “Nestlé Wellness Programme” by Nestlé Spain.

NAOS STRATEGY BUSINESS INITIATIVE AWARD:

  • “http://HANCPtool.org Programme”, by the Regional Ministry of Health of the regional government of the Balearic Islands.

NAOS STRATEGY SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD:

  • Dr Juan Francisco Marcos Becerro, a doctor who has dedicated his life to sports medicine, for his efforts to promote physical exercise among the population.
