Laboratories/National Food Centre (CNA)/About CNA/Accredited by Spain's National Accreditation Body

Accredited by Spain's National Accreditation Body

The National Food Centre (CNA) has been, since 23 July 1999, the laboratory accredited for tests (accreditation file no. 178/LE397), in accordance with requirements of Standard UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025, by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC).

This standard contains the requirements that testing and calibration laboratories must comply with to demonstrate their technical competence and they must have a quality management system that allows them to offer technically valid and reliable analytical results.

The accreditation of the CNA for test categories, in accordance with the requirements of ENAC NT-18 and NT-19 Notes, involves additional management by the laboratory of the:

  • List of Accredited Tests (LEBA)
  • Public List of Tests (LPE)

This management allows the laboratory to carry out, with greater flexibility and speed, the functions as a national reference laboratory, within the official control, and address potential emergencies, or food alerts.

Therefore, the overall scope of CNA Accreditation is made up of a set of tests brought together in the ENAC Technical Annexes of Accreditation currently in force. It is also made up of specific tests mentioned in the LEBA and the LPE, the information of which can be requested from the CNA’s Technical Management Service
