EFSA publishes the final scientific report of the EuroCigua project.
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published the final scientific report of the project Risk characterization of ciguatera poisoning in Europe, EuroCigua. This final report includes all the activities carried out during the almost 5-year duration of the project, from its signing in April 2016 to January 2021. More information
EuroCigua international workshop of ciguatera in Europe
On the occasion of the finalization of the EuroCigua project, the Spanish Food Safety and Nutrition Agency (AESAN) organize the International Workshop of ciguatera in Europe, which is going to take place on the 14 and 15 of October 2020. More information
Publication of the joint FAO-WHO Report on Ciguatera Poisoning
The Joint FAO-WHO Report on Ciguatera Poisoning (CP) was published on 9 June as part of the AG Food Safety and Quality Series. The report was elaborated with the participation of experts from EuroCigua project coordinated by AESAN. More information

20th Anniversary FSAI conference
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) organised a conference to celebrate its 20th anniversary and was held in Dublin on 21st – 22nd August. The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) was invited to the symposium and took the opportunity to present EuroCigua to the attendees. More information
Fourth Annual Meeting of the EuroCigua project.
The 4th EuroCigua meeting of the EFSA’s Project “Risk characterization of ciguatera food poisoning in Europe” was held in Madeira , on May 30 th 2019. The main objective of this meeting was to share the work done throughout two years of the project, as well as keeping the progress of EuroCigua. More information

The 3rd EuroCigua meeting of the EFSA’s Project “Risk characterization of ciguatera food poisoning in Europe” was held in Vigo, on May 10th 2018. The main objective of this meeting was to share the work done throughout two years of the project, as well as keeping the progress of EuroCigua. More information
2nd EuroCigua Meeting
The 2º meeting of the EFSA’s Project “Risk characterization of ciguatera food poisoning in Europe” was held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, on April 6th 2017. The main objective of the meeting was to follow up the work done within the 4 specific agreements since the beginning of the project on June 2016. More information
KICK-OFF Meeting
The kick-off meeting of the EFSA’s Project “Risk characterization of ciguatera food poisoning in Europe” was held in Madrid, at AECOSAN, on June 1st 2016. A total of 13 institutions from 6 different Member States attended the meeting, with the participation of over 30 representatives of the consortium, together with the Advisory Board. More information
