8th NAOS Strategy Awards – 2014
The panel met on 24 March 2015 at the Madrid headquarters of the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (AECOSAN) to judge the 8th NAOS Strategy Awards - 2014 Edition.
In 2014, a total of 119 projects were put forward and pre-assessed by AECOSAN. Pre-assessment is based on the requirements of the call for applications and the general assessment criteria for the awards, established by the Resolution of 3 July 2014 of the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition, opening the application period for the 2014 edition of the NAOS Strategy Awards. Following pre-assessment, 36 finalist projects were selected for presentation to the awarding panel.
The Panel finally met on 24 March 2015, ruling to name the following projects as winners and runners up:
NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE PROMOTION OF HEALTHY DIET IN THE FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SETTING:

“¿Cómo me lo como!” (“How to eat!?”) project by the Food Bank of Cádiz Association. -
1ST RUNNER UP:
“Thao Programme-Children’s Health”, by Thao Foundation. -
2ND RUNNER UP:
“Healthy Community 2.0” project by Tineo Town Council and the Alimerka Foundation. Autonomous Region of Asturias.
NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE PROMOTION OF PHYSICAL EXERCISE IN THE FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SETTING:

“Irun Sasoian” project by Irun Town Council (Gipuzkoa). -
1ST RUNNER UP:
“Active Vallecas” project by Madrid City Council, Madrid Salud and the Autonomous Community of Madrid. -
2ND RUNNER UP:
“Hearts plugged in to sport” programme by the Municipal Sport Service. M.I. Corella Town Council (Navarre).

“Barcelona Obesity Prevention Project (POIBA)” by the Public Health Agency of Barcelona. -
2ND RUNNER UP:
“Fit and healthy!” project by Burgos City Council.

“Escuela + Activa” (“More active school”) project by the Directorate-General for Sports. Regional Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. Castilla-La Mancha. -
1ST RUNNER UP:
“Integrated school sport project in Segovia for the 4–16 age group” `by the Segovia Faculty of Education and the University of Valladolid. Castilla y León. -
2ND RUNNER UP:
“The ‘Pla Pati’ plan in Burriana: integrating public, private and community actors to promote physical activity and sport in schoolchildren” by the Burriana Town Council (Castellón).
NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

“Learning to participate. Healthy walks around health centres” by the Directorate-General for Public Health and Consumer Affairs and Ib-Salut. Regional Ministry of Health. Regional government of the Balearic Islands. -
1ST RUNNER UP:
“Secondary prevention programme for adult obesity in the Aragon Health Service”, by the Aragon Health Service. -
2ND RUNNER UP:
“Nereu Programme for the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity through the prescription of physical exercise and healthy diet for children aged 6–12 and their families” by the Nereu Association.

- In the area of Physical Activity and/or Sport: The Paralympic athlete Mrs Teresa Perales Fernández.
