The panel met on 19 December 2007 at the Madrid headquarters of the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) to judge the 1st NAOS Strategy Awards - 2007 edition.

In 2007, a total of 168 projects were presented and evaluated by the awarding panel based on the general evaluation criteria for the awards established in Order SCO/2647/2007 of 28 August, establishing and calling for applications for the NAOS Strategy Awards.  

The Panel finally met on 19 December 2007, ruling to name the following projects to receive awards:

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SETTING:

• “Municipal strategy for the promotion of healthy diet, physical activity and obesity prevention in Guadix (EMPASAFO)” by the Town council of Guadix (Granada).

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE SCHOOL SETTING:

• “Your health: you decide. Start living!” project by Colegio Público de Villalegre school, Avilés (Asturias).

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM:

• “Active/educational game on food and exercise. ¡A comer! (“Dinner’s ready!”) by Mrs Eva Pérez Arruche, Madrid.

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE WORKPLACE:

• “Study on lifestyle interventions in patients with moderate/high cardiovascular risk” by IBERMUTUAMUR.

NAOS STRATEGY BUSINESS INITIATIVE AWARD:

• “Vivir Sabrosanos” product range by the company Cárnicas Serrano.

NAOS STRATEGY AWARD FOR THE BEST PROJECT OR WORK IN APPLIED RESEARCH:

• Project on “Changes in the dietary habits of school children in the municipality of Llucmajor after two years of educational interventions” by Nutrició Balear S.L. and Llucmajor Town Council (Mallorca).

NAOS STRATEGY SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD:

• Mrs Consuelo López Nomdedeu, for her professional career dedicated to promoting healthy diet and improved physical activity.
