What you should do in the event of the closure of a clinic belonging to the IDental group?

The Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (AECOSAN), given the closure of IDental clinics in certain towns in Spain, advises the affected parties that, in order to defend their rights, they should proceed as follows:
- Submit a written claim to the clinic where the dental treatment was taking place. This should preferably be sent by registered fax.
- Ask the clinic for the medical records via registered fax or other reliable means. If you do not receive a reply to this request, you may exercise your rights through the Spanish Agency for the Protection of Data (AEPD), to restrict their right to access to your personal data.
- Submit a claim to the consumer authorities in the event of breaches of the consumer rights of the Autonomous Community in which the affected party lives.
- Submit a claim to the health authorities of the Autonomous Community in which the affected party lives in the event of malpractice.
- If possible, have an assessment made by a dental professional and submit a claim to the courts of your town of residence.
- In the event of a linked credit agreement, which is one that serves exclusively to finance a contract relating to the supply of specific goods or the provision of specific services:
- Place a claim before the Services, Departments or Customer Ombudsman of the financial entity with which you have agreed the linked credit
- If the entity does not respond or the answer is not satisfactory, submit a claim before the Bank of Spain: Department of Market Conduct and Claims. C/ Alcalá, 48. 28014 Madrid or at one of its branches
- f you signed the linked credit agreement within the last 14 calendar days, you may exercise your right of withdrawal.
- eep all the documentation:
- Leaflets or advertising material.
- Cost estimates.
- Linked credit agreements.
- Receipt of payment and/or invoices.
What are the consumer administrations doing in defence of the affected parties?
Advising the affected parties on the measures and actions which they can take in defence of their health and the protection of their legitimate economic interests.
- Processing the claims submitted to the consumer services.
- Forwarding claims to the regional public prosecutors and the Professional Associations of dentists.
- Making inspections and adopting the relevant disciplinary measures.
