The Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition included on its Web 529 notifications for non-food products in 2017

During 2017, the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (AECOSAN) published on its Web 529 notifications received through the Alert Network because they may pose a serious risk to consumers. Of these, 91 were detected at the border and their import rejected, whereas a further 335 were withdrawn from the market and banned from trade
For the remaining 103, it was the manufacturer who, as required by law, notified the consumer authorities of the existence of possible risks in their products and adopted the necessary measures to reduce these.
MOST NOTIFIED PRODUCTS
Toys (219), Vehicles and accessories (85) and Electrical Products (50), are the products which received most notifications, given the requirements of the legislation which regulates them and the product monitoring performed by the producers themselves and, in the case of toys, the special monitoring to which they are subject by the inspection services as they are intended for a vulnerable population.
The risks posed are the consequence of the irregularities observed.
