In June, the Spanish Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition (AECOSAN) published on its Web 20 notifications received through the Alert Network because they may pose a serious risk to consumers. Of these, 4 were detected at the border and their import rejected, whereas a further 12 were withdrawn from the market and banned from trade.
For the remaining 4, it was the manufacturer who, as required by law, notified the consumer authorities of the existence of possible risks in their products and took the necessary actions to reduce these.
MOST NOTIFIED PRODUCTS
Lighting (6) and electrical products (4) received the highest number of notifications, given the requirements of the legislation which regulates them, whose non-compliance was detected by the inspection services of the Autonomous Communities.
The risks posed are the consequence of the irregularities observed.
